These developments are based on a local production and consumption model that takes into account the sustainability of flexible, regionally sized, small-scale facilities.  This approach is intended to maximize the benefit locally through job and resource creation while minimizing our reliance on and the adverse environmental impacts of non-renewable fossil fuels.
